You may also want to know about their credit counselors and their educational backgrounds. Be sure to ask all of the questions you need to know up front, because you do not want to get involved in a service only to discover you are unhappy with the process and the company you are working with.
Whichever service you choose, it is important to remember that debt consolidation through a service like this should only be reserved for dire situations. This will ruin your credit because you will still be reported as making late payments on your credit report. It can be difficult to open new lines of credit after a counseling service like this, so review your options carefully.
